Common Questions

What does Takivo do now? Takivo tracks supplements, medications, and injections in one schedule. You can create recurring routines, mark doses as done, skipped, or postponed, review adherence history, and use reminders across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and widgets.

Do I need an account? No. Takivo works without sign-up or a Takivo login. iCloud sync uses the Apple ID already signed in on your device.

Where is my data stored? Your supplements, schedules, and dose history are stored on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. When iCloud is available for Takivo, that app data also syncs through your private iCloud database so it can appear on your other Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID.

Takivo does not operate a separate sync server and cannot see your Apple ID. If iCloud is unavailable, the app continues to work locally on that device.

What changed in recent releases?

What is included in Takivo Pro? Pro removes the free item limit and unlocks premium surfaces and workflows such as full history, persistent reminders, workout-day scheduling, Apple Watch, and expanded widget experiences. Subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple’s App Store.

How do I restore or manage a subscription? Open Takivo → Settings → Pro Subscription. Use Restore Purchases to ask StoreKit to refresh your entitlement. You can manage, cancel, or change App Store subscriptions from iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Do widgets work for free users? The small next-dose widget is available as a basic glance. Expanded widget and lock-screen experiences may show limited information or an upgrade prompt when they depend on Pro-only features.

How does the Apple Watch app work? The Apple Watch app is a Pro feature. It shows today’s plan from your iPhone, caches the latest snapshot on the watch, and lets you mark doses Done, Skip, or Postpone. The iPhone remains the source of truth for data writes and reminder resync.

If the watch looks stale, open Takivo on your iPhone and keep the devices near each other briefly so WatchConnectivity can refresh the snapshot.

Do you collect analytics or diagnostics? The current version does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or Takivo-operated remote logging. Future versions may add limited diagnostics or product analytics to improve reliability and usability; if we do, we will update our Privacy Policy with what is collected and why.

Will Takivo integrate with Apple Health? Future versions may optionally read workout data from HealthKit and write supplement intake records back, with your explicit permission. This would help with workout-aware scheduling. We will update the Privacy Policy before any HealthKit integration ships.

Can I share my schedule with family or a caregiver? Not yet. Future versions may add optional schedule sharing with designated contacts. If introduced, we will update the Privacy Policy with details on what is shared and how to manage access.

How do I enable notifications? Go to iOS Settings → Takivo → Notifications and make sure notifications are allowed. Then open Takivo and check that your items have a schedule with a time set.

Notification permissions are device-specific. If your Takivo data syncs to a second iPhone or iPad, you still need to allow notifications on that device before it can remind you.

Why did a reminder not appear on my second device? iCloud sync copies your Takivo schedules and dose history, but notification permission and scheduled local alerts are device-specific. Open Takivo on the second device, allow notifications, and confirm iCloud is available in Settings → iCloud Sync.

How do I check iCloud sync status? Open Takivo → Settings → iCloud Sync. The card shows whether iCloud is available, unavailable, temporarily unavailable, restricted, or not signed in.

If sync is not available:

I used Takivo on multiple devices before iCloud sync. Why do I see duplicates? If separate devices had independent local data before version 1.2, iCloud may sync those independently-created items together. Takivo does not automatically guess which records should be merged. You can clean up duplicates from Library by editing, pausing, or deleting the extra items.

Can I restore my data after reinstalling? If iCloud sync was available before reinstalling, Takivo should hydrate your data from your private iCloud database after you reinstall and sign into the same Apple ID. Initial hydration can take a little time depending on network conditions and the size of your history.

Apple-managed device backups, such as iCloud Backup or iTunes/Finder backup, may also include local app data if you enable them.

How do I delete all my data? Delete the app from a device to remove locally stored Takivo data from that device. If iCloud sync is enabled, synced app data may still exist in your private iCloud database and can reappear when reinstalling Takivo with the same Apple ID. You can manage app data stored in iCloud through iOS iCloud storage settings.

Feedback & Feature Requests

We prioritize features based on user feedback. Email us with what you’d like to see next — specifics help a lot (“I want to snooze by 2 hours” is more actionable than “better notifications”).
